Lisa Hightower is the design force behind Village Fair Designs. Her experiences in many fields have helped contribute to her knowledge and expertise in effective Web Design.

Lisa served under contract for national online service provider Prodigy Communications Corporation, building and authoring the Prodigy® Crafts Connection, a proprietary Web Site, from April, 1995 to October 1, 1999. She also handled the second version of the Crafts Connection on Prodigy's new service, Prodigy Internet, from October, 1996, to March, 1998. (Communities like the Crafts Connection were discontinued in March, 1998, service-wide.) Prodigy Internet re-instituted the Crafts Connection as its first community to make a second debut in March, 1999; Lisa stepped down from her duties at the end of September, 1999, to pursue her own business interests.

In her duties as Crafts Connection Interest Group Moderator (Prodigy Classic) and Crafts Connection Community Host (Prodigy Internet), Lisa researched, reviewed, recommended, and coordinated with over 500 crafts-related web sites, with an eye for content and excellence. She has worked with bulletin board communities, acted as a Special Events Coordinator, and currently authors and manages a crafts-related internet mailing list. The mailing list distributes the Crafts Connection Newsletter, containing industry news, articles, tips, and web resources for crafting professionals, enthusiasts, and appreciators. The Crafts Connection Newsletter has been available online since October, 1995, and now has its own website, featuring over 900 reviewed and categorized craft links, chat, forums, and other resources for craftspeople worldwide.

Lisa's background includes over a decade as a published freelance knitwear designer, having catered to both private clientele and craft industry leader Leisure Arts. She began creating photomodels used for photography in Leisure Arts magazines, advertisements, and publications in 1985. Her work has also appeared by invitation at the Clinton White House. Previous to this, Lisa worked in public relations for a tourist attraction, and as a department store supervisor.

In other Internet-related activities, Lisa founded and continues to run the extremely successful Mel Gibson Fans Mailing List, as well as the award-winning Web Site. Founded in May, 1996, the mailing list and web site have garnered the attentions of CNN Interactive, Microsoft Cinemania '97, and was recommended in the January, 1997 Edition of Online Access. The Web Site was also invited to display images and information for the Buena Vista film “Ransom”, “Conspiracy Theory”, "Lethal Weapon 4", and most recently, Paramounts' "Payback". Those savvy to the Internet will know that such extensions of permission are rare in the film industry.

Other work has included web sites for businesses such as Fiser Hummer, Fiser Truck & Tractor, Inc., Chile & Company Texas-Style Roadhouse, and such non-profit organizations as the Westark Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America, located in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Lisa has been a website developer for over six years, and her talents include HTML code creation from scratch, graphic design, animation, javascript, java applets, CGI, Perl, cascading style sheets, and server-side includes.
